Question by NotTyler: I know somebody who is making fake Facebook accounts. What do I do?
I know a person (we can get in touch with them “Jane”) who has created an complete fleet of untrue people on Facebook. There is evidence to assistance this, these as the fact that none of these untrue people have any buddies other than “Jane.” Their accounts are blank, their default photos are obscure, and I have identified that a lot of of these pictures are taken directly from the Internet. No a single understands these “folks,” and I have gathered that they exist only to make “Jane” search social.
I am getting difficulties discerning whether or not this violates the conditions and circumstances of Facebook, as they are not spamming “Jane” is basically employing them to remark on and like her very own statuses, photos, and many others. The bottom line is that fake folks on a social network make me unpleasant, and I would like your view on regardless of whether I must report these “individuals” for the excellent of absolutely everyone or brain my possess business and just unfriend “Jane.” Sorry for my long-winded description, and thanks for your assist in advance.
Thank you, every person. I enjoy all of your helpfully opinionated solutions! With the exception of Keke, I am grateful that you ended up all so variety with your responses to my very first Yahoo! Solutions issue simply because of this, I search ahead to inquiring a lot more questions in the future.
As for my choice: I have decided that I am going to report the accounts if and only if her untrue account-creating and newsfeed-clogging carries on. I should notice that my major worry is not what she’s been undertaking with these accounts, but what she has the capacity to do. I dread these false accounts can be utilised for spamming, cyber-bullying, and so forth. with no accountability falling on “Jane.” So, I hope my determination is wise and also that I am capable to quit this ridiculous conduct just before it escalates. When again, thank you really much!

I would report them and all their alias’s.
Now, my opinion on this is that ‘Jane’ is slightly… Well… Strange. However, she could have some form of illness meaning that she needs to feel attention (or she may just be an attention seeker). This wouldn’t bother me if it was a illness. If she was in fact attention seeking, I’d see her as just weird and avoid her and her obscure ways, as she obviously seems desperate for attention.
But, Facebook do want you to report things that make YOU uncomfortable, uneasy, upset and other words beginning with ‘u’ so that they can remove them and make Facebook as pleasant an experience as it can be. If these accounts are bothering you, either report them, or email Facebook and explain your concern. However, most people who cause us uncomfort are usually removed from our lives in a number of ways, so it may just be as well to delete/block her. If it makes others uncomfortable, I’m sure they’d do the same. She’s causing no harm (from what I can see in your question) so there is no reason to take action. But this is, of course, my opinion and my feelings. It may be affecting you, in which case, reporting it may be best for you.
You can report the fake profiles. If the fake profiles aren’t a threat to you, or others, then I wouldn’t really worry about it too much. Obviously “Jane” just wants attention and created these profiles to create a image of her having a big social life. And its pretty obvious that she created these profiles since she’s their only friend.
You must report the person to Facebook at the earliest before he changes his profile and hide completely. Act Quick. Facebook usually takes decade to solve such issues. So goahead and report their profile with complete detail of whats happening and how you know them. If you have any proof, attach them.. it may speed up the process.
